'American Idol': Will Young's 'Leave Right Now' Season 9 tribute

On the final "American Idol" Season 9 performance show on May 25, Lee DeWyze and Crystal Bowersox gave it their all one last time in the hopes of earning America's votes, but they weren't the only singers to take the stage.

Will Young performed the Season 9 song "Leave Right Now," which has been featured in a montage video for the eliminated contestant each week.

In 2002 Young became the first winner of the British "Pop Idol," which was created by Simon Fuller and went on to inspire "American Idol" and many similar spin-offs. His song "Leave Right Now" is a popular UK single from his 2003 album, "Friday's Child."

Because the song has been featured on "American Idol" this season, it's found its way to the American Billboard charts, rising to the #29 position on the Adult Contemporary chart. It's been the soundtrack to many tearful goodbyes throughout Season 9, so it's only fitting that Young would perform the song during a sentimental montage on the penultimate episode of the season.

"Leave Right Now" was released for sale in the U.S. today (May 25). It is Young's first U.S. single.
