Graeme Mcdowell Girlfriend (VIDEO)

News Info : US Open Golf 2010 Graeme Mcdowell Girlfriend

In any other era the Portrush man would be the one hogging the headlines, although with his easy-going nature it’s easy to suspect he’s perfectly happy to leave the limelight to others.

No wonder, therefore, that the Americans have greeted the green invasion of their scoreboards this past month with all the enthusiasm of a riotous tee party: Padraig Harrington's victory in the Honda Classic a fortnight ago; Des Smyth's maiden win on the Seniors Tour the same day; Darren Clarke's eye-catching pants at Bay Hill last week, a triumph of sartorial inelegance. And then there's Graeme McDowell.

Graeme McDowell does this every year in early July. Not the fry bit, just the ferry bit. The week of the Scottish Open, he loads up the Range Rover on the Monday, drives the hour from Portrush to Larne, rolls onto P&O's finest for an hour and hey presto he has his own car in the drive for a fortnight. He has his clubs in the boot so he doesn't have to spend an hour and a couple of hundred quid dragging them through an airport even 29 year old multi-millionaires resent lining the anti-golfer pockets of Ryanair and Easyjet at this point and better yet, he can live out the next two weeks without being a slave to the rhythms of the tour. Logistics become a whole lot simpler when you're not relying on a courtesy car timetable.

Ernie Els and Gregroy Havret are tied for fourth at par, and Phil Mickelson had to settle for sixth place at plus one after a not-so-good round yesterday. Phil Mickelson seems to play brilliantly one day and poorly the next. If he follows that trend, he could wind up winning today.

Ernie Els : US Open Golf Final Round

0058 Ernie still lurking in the long grass but his third onto the par five 14th stopped on the greeen in birdie range but then rolls all the way back down and around the corner leaving him with a very tricky up and down to find par. And then Mickelson does the exact same thing.

0055 Great scenes as golfing legend Tom Watson makes his way onto the 18th green. Tears in his eyes as it is likely to be his swan song at the US Open. And wouldn’t you know, Watson almost chips in from the greenside bunker. You the man, Tom.

Gregory Havret - A French Golfer Rises Above the Fray

Just before going into the final round at the 2010 US Open, Gregory Havret updated his facebook status:

"merci a tous.. sincerement, je ne sais pas trop a quoi m attendre, ce qui est sur c est que je me donnerai comme jamais jusqu au dernier shot, j espere vs faire vibrer autant que je vibre!! bises"

In other words;

"Thank you everyone. I don't really know what to expect, but what I do know, for sure, is that I'm going to give it everything I've got till the last shot. I hope I'll make this as exciting for you as it is for me."

Oh, and, "kisses". He added "kisses" which probably seems odd to the average American but.. cultural nuance... not to a Frenchman.

At that point Greg was getting ready to meet Tiger Woods, his playing partner for the final round. There were multiple comments from Facebook friends with whimsical French names: "Aller Greg!" and "Vas y Greg ! On est avec toi!!" ... and one from me: "Go Greg!!!!" ~ And in the end Greg was prodigious.

Dustin Johnson... who held the lead going into the final round and had the kind of youth, cool and Pebble-Beach-pedigree that made him a "sure bet" prediction for many... floundered. Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els and Tiger Woods struggled valiantly but couldn't put it all together. So it was that Gregory Havret, who qualified for his first US Open with a 50 foot putt in a playoff, found himself the lone challenger to Graeme McDowell on the final hole. Alas his final putt for birdie came up short which left McDowell needing only par to win, which he ultimately did.

But for Gregory Havret the experience was certainly inoubliable as in, unforgettable, and though a part of his heart is surely broken to have come so close, overall he must be very happy.

There's a huge potential for golf to grow in France... with the sport now part of the Olympics, and with France bidding for the 2018 Ryder Cup... and what Gregory accomplished at Pebble Beach will certainly be great for the future of the sport.

Tom Watson at It Again: Tied For 16th at The Open and on the Move

tom watson

Tom Watson is at it again, at plus six for the US Open Championship, in a tie for 16th place.
Watson is over 60 now, and ahead of youngsters such as Paul Casey, Brendan De Jonge, Matt Kuchar, and a host of very good PGA Tour players.
Because of tough conditions, Watson's play borders on the surreal, with everyone wanting one more surge of birdies for one  of golfs living legends.
That would sure be special if Tom Watson could make it to even par on Sunday, with the whole world watching Tiger Woods play catch up to Dustin Johnson who is at minus six.
Any kind of round like Saturdays might get Watson a top five finish in this year's U.S. Open at Pebble Beach.
Dare we dream everyone falls to pieces and Tom Watson chips one more shot in on the way to the hall of fame in his sport.
Now that would be priceless.
